History
Kobyalar Group is a third-generation family company which
supplies deep frozen fish and fish products to all over the
world. Fish oil and fish meal are produced with the latest and
most effective technology and evaporation techniques to keep and
increase quality of the products.
The business life of Kobyalar has begun with small stores by
Haci Ismail Kobya in 1940. The Group has started first in 1968
with fishing and manufacturing it. In 1990 they’ve left the
sector for a short time and and in 1994 they bought their first
fish processing company in Trabzon with a capacity of 120t/day.
The capacity of the fish processing and the quality is increased
every year and now with their partners and three companies
Kobyalar Group has reached a capacity of 2750tones/day (year
2009):
- Trabzon : Koptur Ltd.Sti. - 1200 t/day
- Sinop: Dalyan Ltd. Sti. - 1200 t/day
- Georgia: Spoo Hamsa - 350 t/day
- Trabzon: Akerko Ltd. Sti. - frozen fish
Now the company is managed by Mehmet Kobya and Ismail Kobya. Mehmet Kobya is married, has three children and lives in Trabzon. Ismail Kobya is married, has two children and lives in Trabzon.
